Problems drilling with diamond core drill bit?

?Here we explain how to solve the most common problems that can occur when drilling with a diamond core drill bit.

WHAT WE SEE
ON THE DIAMOND DRILL BIT
POSSIBLE CAUSESOLUTION
RELEASE OF SEGMENT– Lack of cooling, decrease thickness
– Excessive heat
– Drill Jam
– Loose rods
– Increase cooling
– Check that the anchorage of the drill bit is correctly placed and without damage
SEGMENT WITH DARK COLOR
– Lack of cooling
– Excessive heat
– Excessive speed
– Increase cooling
– Slow down rotation speed
– Switch to a mode of cyclic drilling
SEGMENT INCLINATION (OUTSIDE / INSIDE)
– Abrupt start
– Work at high power with the polished segment
– Choose a segment too hard
– Drill softly
– If possible, move the opening part.
– If the movement is not possible, set the speed lower rotation
– Put the drill bit as slow and smooth as possible
CRACKS IN THE STEEL BODY
– Unequal wear out of the body of the nucleus as a result of core runout, lateral loads, impact
– Overload during drilling
– Drill Jam
– Change to a mode of smoother drilling or cyclic
– Stop the drill and unblock the drill bit
SEGMENT TOTAL OR PARTIALLY BROKEN
– Wrong fixation of the stand
– Loose rods
– Set the stand
FRICTION AT THE TUBE
– Thickness loss
– Loose rod
– Set the stand
– Cut
LOW CUTTING SPEED
– Satin Segment– Lower peripheral speed
EXCESSIVE WEAR
– Lack of cooling
– Low peripheral speed
– Increase cooling
– Upload peripheral speed
